MADISON TOWNSHIP

 

The Madisonville Grange Hall was started December 16, 1899 and renovated in 2001.  It’s located on Reservoir Road.

 

The Madisonville Store was placed on property that was bought in 1947 by Mr. Schreck.  The building dates back to 1878 and was then known as the Cash Store.  It served the community for 123 years.

 

Madisonville Christian Church had its congregation founded in 1842 and first held services at the Bear Brook School.  It was constructed in 1852 and cost about $1,100.  Its first pastor was Elder Alva Hermons in September 1842.  It opened its doors on April 24, 1852.

 

Henry Drinker was the name for the former Madisonville School which is now a township building.  Named after the wealthy Philadelphia Quaker Henry Drinker.
